How we handle your information

SAMS Training (“we,” “us,” or “our”) provides Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC) and Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course (CRFSC) instruction in Markham, Ontario. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in accordance with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

Information we collect

We only collect the personal information we need to book and run your course or to respond to you:

  • Course bookings. When you reserve a seat through our online scheduling calendar, you provide your name, email address, phone number, the course and date you select, and a deposit payment. Bookings are handled through Acuity Scheduling, and deposit payments are processed by PayPal.
  • Contacting us. If you email, call, or message us on Instagram, we receive whatever information you choose to share — typically your name, contact details, and your question.
  • Course completion records. When you complete a course, your completion is recorded and reported to the relevant firearms safety education authority as required for your licensing — this is a standard part of the certified course process.
  • Basic website data. Like most websites, our host may log standard technical information (such as IP address and browser type) for security and reliability. This site does not use advertising or tracking cookies.

How we use your information

We use the information above to:

  • confirm, schedule, reschedule, and manage your course booking;
  • process your deposit and arrange the remaining balance;
  • deliver the course and complete the required course report for your licence;
  • answer your questions and provide customer support;
  • meet our legal and regulatory obligations.

We do not use your information for unrelated marketing, and we do not send promotional newsletters from this site.

Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We disclose it only where necessary to deliver our courses (for example, the course completion report required for licensing), to the service providers listed above, or where required by law.

How long we keep it

We keep your personal information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected — to administer your booking and course, to maintain the course completion records we are required to keep, and to meet legal obligations. After that, it is deleted or anonymized.

Keeping your information secure

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access. Payment and booking data is held by our service providers using their own security measures.

Your privacy rights

Under PIPEDA you have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to request a correction, and to withdraw your consent (subject to legal and contractual limits). To make a request, contact us using the details below and we will respond within a reasonable time.

Children’s privacy

Our courses are open to participants 12 and older, and minors require the consent of a parent or guardian to register. Where a minor takes a course, we collect and handle their information with guardian involvement and only for the purpose of the course.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date above. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
